A one day conference will be held at Salford Diocese Archives, St Augustine’s, Grosvenor Square, All Saints, Manchester, M15 6BW on Saturday 1 March 2014 to mark the approaching centenary of the outbreak of WW1.
The conference will start with registration and coffee at 10.00 a.m. and conclude at 5.00 p.m.
The topics covered will include: The Lancashire Edwardian Catholic Community on the eve of WW1, sources in the diocesan archives of Salford and Liverpool, Bishop Casartelli and WW1, Stonyhurst and WW1, the Gallipoli Experience, ‘The bravest Little Street in England’, War Memorials: Oldham, the Salford Diocese, and Liverpool.
Conference fee – £10, payable on the day. This includes the cost of lunch and tea and coffee.
